Money Stuff Challenge
In 2004, Year 10 Commerce and Civics
and Industry and Enterprise students, with the help of their teachers; Ms M Bridges, Ms
L Gerbing and Mrs L White, entered
the Money Stuff Challenge sponsored by
The Ministry of Finance and Consumer Affairs and Apple Computers Australia. Our students won many of the awards in the
best individual and best group
categories.
The Minister for Finance and Consumer Affairs, Mr
John Lenders, announced and presented
the awards at a ceremony in the College
Library on Friday, 5 November 2004. A representative
from Apple Computers Australia, Mr Joe Cox, assisted in the
presentation. Ms Kirstie Marshall MLA
for Forest Hill also attended the
ceremony.
Our students performed magnificently, received 9 of the awards including Winner and Runner up in the
individual awards. A total of 23 Vermont students contributed individual entries and 14 teams contributed group entries. All participants received a certificate. The students also won for the school a new G5 iMac Computer and a Canon digital video camera. A representative from the Minister’s office said that the quality of individual and group entries from Vermont SC students was outstanding.
